Barbara Carswell

Originally from New Hampshire, Barbara was raised in the Congregational Church. She and her husband, Bill, have been members of First Presbyterian Church for over 20 years. They have two adult children, Bill and Allison. Some favorite family memories were of the mission trips they went on together in Southwest Virginia. She is currently an elementary school teacher in Albemarle County, where she cherishes the time she spends working with the children.

What God is doing in your life?
God has been showing me all the ways in which life can become a life of service and an example of Christ's love in daily life. Whether it be working with children at school, taking care of elderly parents, or spending time in prayer, God is in every moment.

What excites you most about serving as an officer?
As an officer, I am looking forward to being the “hands and feet of Christ.” I am excited to explore the opportunities to serve others and to grow in Christ.
