Jann Balmer and her family moved to Charlottesville in 1983 and joined First Presbyterian Church in the 1996 after transferring from Westminister Presbyterian Church in Charlottesville. Our goal was to find a church community that met the needs of our entire family, and the youth ministry program was active and engaging. Jann is a pediatric nurse with a PhD in higher education administration and held faculty positions in the Schools of Medicine and Nursing since 1990. She worked as a pediatric nurse at UVA since 1984.

What is God doing in your life?
God has a plan for me to use my skills and gifts to help create and support a community that exemplifies the Christianity as a positive force in our daily lives.

What excites you the most about serving as an officer?
I look forward to the opportunity to engage with our church community and help support the mission for all of our members, families, friends, and visitors.
